In China, made the connection of a new generation - the quantum channel
English scientists helped the Chinese signalmen create a stable communication
channel between the two cities, and set up a quantum communication
site between the city of Nanshan and Delinha. Between these small cities by Chinese standards, the distance is 1120 km.
The previous achievement of Chinese experts in the field of quantum communication
was limited by a distance of 100 km, an increase in the area by 10 times is at least a very big achievement. The experiment involved the Mo-Tzu orbital module.
The peculiarity of quantum communication
is that two objects must at least be on the same line and there should not be any visible obstacles between the transmitter and receiver.
Previously, even with direct visibility, it was possible to stably transmit photons of light only at short distances. It is important not only to transmit the photon itself, but also to catch it somewhere far away and check its condition. When, at long distances, it became possible to capture even photons of light, then it was time to actually implement the photon communication
channel. After a series of experiments, it turned out to build an encrypted communication
channel at a distance of 1120 km. Chinese experts believe that this is a super achievement, so far no one in the world has managed to do this.
Communication is based on the scientific phenomenon of tangled quanta. Ideally, between a pair of quanta there should not be any other separating object, not even any other particle. If a particle flies at the moment of coupling between the quanta, then the channel no longer has the required level of protection.
The very essence of quantum encrypted communication
is almost identical except for the information transfer system. First, a special encryption key is created. Then the message is encrypted, then you need to quickly transfer the message itself and the key. The transmission process itself is limited in time, it is necessary to transmit so quickly, while there is not a single obstacle to the movement of a quantum of light. The transmitter was located on the surface of the earth, and the receiver in orbit.
You should not think that this channel is both secret and broadband, everything works but the bandwidth of the channel is still very low, in just 285 seconds it was possible to transfer only one byte of information in encrypted form. It is not difficult to calculate the information transfer rate on such a closed communication
channel - 0.12 bit / s. Although the connection is still slow, but it is of a new type and if everything works out, it will be at the level of unique secrecy, and nothing of the kind has been created before.
